This is a classic and very good. Sometimes I'm a wary of "classics" because they can be very boring but this one is not. The characters are so well drawn and the situation is somehow very accessible despite it's being written so long ago. If you haven't read this book, please do. Dickens lives up to his name and it will be worth the time you put into it.
I loved "David Copperfield but over 200 pgs into this 880 page book I gave up,as I did on "A Tail of Two Cities". So many words, and the old English. Tho amusing at times, just too tedious to devote any more time to.

Charles Dickens has written two kind of novels - very detailed and wordy ones and ones that move quickly. This novel is one of his more fast paced novels. It involves the history of an orphan named Esther with a mysterious past who, along with two other young adults, is entangled in a legal battle with the superfluous Chancery courts of England.
One of Dicken's best.
