Either I'm getting more used to this dark, gritty, industrial wasteland, or this story is becoming more involving. This volume is the first one of the series I actually enjoyed. The plotline is finally becoming more focused and crystallized as we learn more and more details about this world and the cyber denizens living here, thus making these residents more real to the reader, and hence more accessible. I'm starting to care what happens to Killy and Cibo, and the various Net citizens they run across. I want to find out more about the Authority. I want to see how Killy resolves his latest struggles with the Safeguard. I want to see what happens with Cibo and if a way can be found to cure her catastrophic injuries. I want to see what becomes of the Toha civilization villagers. So, now I'll be looking forward to finding/reading Vol. 4.
