It took me a while to finish reading this book. Liked it, plenty of information about the players of the privatization of the military operations in USA, the usual suspects, Vicepresident Chenney, Rumsfeld, the Bush administration. After reading it I can see USA has as much corruption as any third world country, and just a handful of people gets all the rewards, Blackwater is like a cult their members and top officials are religious fanatics as bad as the enemies they fight against for, their "christian beliefs" and patriotism as well as their powerful connections with the Republican party, makes them as dangerous as the "terrrorists" they are trying to protect the USA from.
Blackwater is a dangerous association growing like a weed with the protection of our own leaders!!

A left wing Bush bashing, anti war book. Very disappointed, was hoping for an unbiased factual account of Blackwater. Authors bias is obvious from the first page. Only those on the far left of our society would enjoy this.

Great book...though eerie. It gives a lot of backroom history concerning the war in Iraq as well as military policy shifts and decisions over the past 10 years. It was extremely interesting to learn many of the things that have happened pre and post Iraq invasion. Also, Erik Prince and the Prince family is a very interesting story. All of it plays into a narrative of our military branch that no one wants to hear or believe. Military privatization is real and happening.
Though I think Scahill did a pretty good job at sticking to the facts, it's hard not to be angry and see tons of evil in Bush, Prince, Rumsfeld, and Cheney...not to mention all the other cohorts, appointments, and ex-government/now employed by Blackwater characters.
If you have an open mind and are interested in fringe government/politics/military topics...your gonna love this book.

Wow! CNN on steroids. Conspiracy theorists will love this one. Though the author is less than impartial in his biased delivery, the information is eye opening. We have got to start questioning the actions of our government. Can't believe this has been going on so long and is not common knowledge.
