There are a lot of good fantasy books out there but not a lot that just blow you away. This was one of the latter. I was so involved in this story that it was incredibly hard to put down. The story had the elements of a typical fantasy... goblins, giants, magic, etc. but it was put together so differently that it was new and amazing. Our main character, Kinch, was perfect. He was rude and crude, yet loyal, funny and lovable. The other characters were just as great. The magic and setting was top notch. The story tied up nicely with room for another book or two in the future (we can only hope).

What a fun adventure! Lots to love about this tale with some great characters. It is quite brutal in places though. A magical fantasy that exceeds expectations.
