With my interest in the code battles of World War II, I hoped I would enjoy this book. And enjoy it, I did.

The breaking and reading of codes was just a part of the Battle of the Atlantic. Technological advances by both sides caused the tide to ebb back and forth between the Axis and the Allies. What helped tip the balance for the Allies was the insight by scientists who accumulated the data, evaluated it and made suggestions which changed the way the admirals, generals and politicians made war.

I highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in the Battle of the Atlantic. On the plus side, it is well written and entertaining.
