This book is about two high school athletes who are inseperable both on and off the basketball court. Their friendship is especially meaningful because they are of different races and economic status. They have a promising future ahead of them in college sports unitl...
They make some terrible decisions along the way which sets the stage for the conflict that makes up most of the book. I previewed this novel for potential use in the high school classroom, but found one section in it to be too vulgar.
The book has won several awards including two from ALA and would be a good book for a young adult who would benefit from seeing how poor decison-making can impact friendship and future life.
