A fitting addition to the trilogy tale of the Violets...Until now, only a naturally occurring phenomena - People with violet eyes able to summon the spirits of the dead and talk with them. Now the Corps has decided to manipulate DNA to create their OWN "Violets" artifically even if a few must die to perfect the formula... Only Natalie Lindstrom, a natural violet who has refused to "join" the Corps is aware of the plot and its horrendous results but can she even stop it - much less help the poor souls already inoculated....

Really good story in the continuing series about the Violets, people who can communicate with the dead. This time, someone is trying to create Violets in the lab... with deadly consequences.

This book was much better than "With Golden Hands"!

I've read the entire series and have enjoyed each book. From Black Rooms was a good read but the ending was terrible, hurried, and unsatisfying; especially as the last book for this series.

The story line, action and overall plot was much better in this, the 4th installment than the previous 2, but I must give it an even lower rating due to it's ending. The ending was trite, rushed, overall unsatisfying and left too many questions unanswered.

***Spoiler Alert****

After fighting for 3 books to keep away from the NAACC and keep her child free from them for 10 years the main character gives up her child to the corps but takes solace in the fact that they will always be a family as long as they are together? Huh? And how are they to be a family when the corps will keep them apart except for prescribed visitations which we would have to believe would be nil to none based on the last 10 years of her fighting them. I could go on but don't want to add more spoilers. I don't know about other readers but I definitely felt cheated.

One gifted crime-slover's link to the dead, may forever keep her from the land of the living...

Natalie has finally left the underworld behind for a new career in the art world. But there's on world she can't escape: the Other world of the dead. As a former Viloet, an elite crime - fighter with the power to channel murder victims, Natalie is now using her paranormal gift to summon the spirits of legenday painters. But she's about to discover how far some people will go to keep their hold on her- and others like her.

This was a different kind of writing for me to read. It kept me engrossed through out the entire book.

I loved all four of the books in this series.
