The book Black Boy is about the author's journey from Mississippi to Chicago during the Jim Crow period. Black Boy shows how a common black person went through his daily life. Richard Wright wanted to strive for more knowledge during that time period, but his obtaining that knowledge was limited because of his race. A must read for anyone interested in this sad time of our history.
