Paretsky at her best. Love the twists and turns, though I could definitely see one of them coming with the romance. I also enjoyed meeting one of the long running characters for the first time.
I really like V.I. she always seems to be able to get herself into and out of trouble. I can see how this book would be a good start for other women slueths and women writers as well. It must be the gut feelings they always seem to have.
This was probably the best V.I. Warshawski book that I have read. She falls in love with a doctor but she soon starts to think he may have been the reason for the death of a young soon-to-be mother. She has to go through a lot of emotional defeats with her friends before she finds out if she can trust her doctor or not.
