I had never read this author before and thought this sounded like a good read. I don't usually read books of this genre, as I tend to stick with mysteries. The story revolves around two sisters, who couldn't be more opposite of each other. One of them buys a bait & bbq business and the other decides to stay on & help her. The small town and its residents are charming. It reminds me of the town my grandma lived in for many years. I enjoyed this story very much.

Emma has always been the big sister looking after her younger sister Katy. Now Katy has bought a B&B on Ebay somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Once they are just getting settled, along comes Katy's ex-husband and mother-in-law.

This book is a good reflection on the people and interactions in a small town. The characters are well-developed in this novel. By the end you feel as if you know each of them. I enjoyed this book by Ms. Morsi, although some of the plot was a bit predictable.

Every now and then you order a book that you think you might 'like,' and then are pleasantly surprised to find that you love it! A thoroughly enjoyable story about two sisters who think they are buying a bed & breakfast on a lake, only to find that it's really a 'bait and barbeque' place. A very enjoyable read. I liked it A LOT and was glad I ordered it!

This was a fun easy read. It was very predictable in places in the story, but still very good. The characters were likable and believeable. I would love to live in a small town like the one in the book. I enjoyed this book much more than i thought I would.

Flighty Katy Dodson's dreaminess gets her in over her head (again) in this light romance. Against her younger but more mature sister Emma's better judgment, Katy uses her divorce settlement to buy off the Internet, sight-unseen, an Ozarks B&B, thinking it will be the perfect place to raise her five-year-old son, Josh. But when the three arrive in Warbler Lake, they find what they thought was a quaint inn is actually a bait shop and barbecue restaurant. Neither Katy, Emma nor Josh know a brisket from a big-mouth bass, but they stick it out; colorful locals dutifully patronize the establishment (and hope the food improves) while providing narrative fodder. Back in St. Louis, Katy's ex-mother-in-law, Gwen, suddenly sees in her grandson the opportunity to do what she failed to do with her son, Sean: raise a fitting heir for her burger chain mini-empire. Gwen bullies Sean-who's still pining for his ex-wife-into seeking custody of Josh, and soon Gwen and Sean end up in Warbler Lake.

I found this book to be simple and predictable. The characters were one dimensional and unimaginative. I found the ending of the book insulting to independent and intelligent women.

This delightful book is peopled with an assortment of off-beat characters that just happened to live in the Ozarks. Because the town is so small, everyone does double duty; Curt is both mailman and minister, the school principal is also the towns only real estate agent.

I fell in love with the town immediately; the main characters not so much. This is really the story of the changing relationship between a pair of sisters. Emma, who wants to be an anthropologist, has put her life on hold several times in order to raise and then help Katy get re-established (after her marriage to Sean Dodson failed).

I couldnt get a handle on Katy; she seemed to be a strange mix of joy (in spite of overwhelming problems), naiveté and faith that she would find a great place for herself and Josh (her 5 year-old son) to settle into permanently . I thought she needed a keeper and Emma seemed to be the sane one of the pair.

Katy spends her entire divorce settlement buying Bitsys B & B in Warbler Lake, Missouri. She purchases (what she thinks is a bed-and-breakfast) on eBay sight unseen. When Emma, Josh and Kate arrive, the property turns out to be a run-down bait-and-BBQ disaster. Although Emma knows the best plan is to return to St. Louis, the sisters roll up their sleeves and start cleaning.

After showing no interest in Josh for all of his 5 years, along comes the ex-husband Sean and his mother, Gwen. It is very easy to hate Seans mother; shes the controlling, dictatorial CEO of a large business (left to her by her late husband and Seans father).

Gwen helped split Sean and Katy years ago; now she wants guardianship of her grandson, Josh. After looking at the dismal job she did with Sean, I was underwhelmed by the possibility that Gwen would win custody of Josh.

Katys reaction to Sean is certainly in keeping with her character; however, is she setting herself up for another disaster? I wasnt impressed with Sean or Gwen; by the end, I wasnt sure that Sean had matured enough to make a lifetime commitment to anyone or anything.

Delightful story about two sisters, the youngest of whom has a 5 year old boy, who purchase, sight unseen, what they think is a Bed and Breakfast, but in fact, turns out to be the only restaurant (and side revenue from the adjacent bait shop). The small town feel is reminiscent of Debbie Macomber style setting, and the plot, though predictable, is comforting. I highly recommend this book as light reading for feel good finish.

One of my new favorite authors! I had this book on my TBR pile for awhile and I'm sorry it sat there so long collecting dust.

I just wish there was a sequel for the sister!

A great read and I had a fun time reading this book. It was interesting to read about another small town since I live in one itself and showed a great example of how small town life is and how close-knit everyone is.

Two sisters, one with a 5 year old, move to a small town in the mountains. One believes that she just bought a B&B on Ebay, but she is getting a Bait and BBQ instead. The eldest put college on hold yet again to bail her baby sister out. Locals are a colorful crowd that will keep you smiling as the help keep her new business going. Add a little romance with the ex husband, and that rounds off this very enjoyable book.

I thought she needed to absorb some of Emma's cynical level-headedness. By the end of the story, Katy was showing significant growth.

Katy spent her entire divorce settlement buying "Bitsy's B & B" in Warbler Lake, Missouri. She purchased (what she thought was a bed-and-breakfast) on an eBay auction ... sight unseen.
