After losing her job because of unfounded rumours, Sam and her pal Tom make a go of it on their own and start their own magazine. Part "The Devil Wears Prada" part "His Gal Friday"
This is a small (8x5") hardback.
Definitely a twenty-something book...lots of hot young New Yorkers working in publishing, starting their own magazine. Samantha and her best friend, Tom, go from man-crazy (both of them)playing-in-the-city-and-their-jobs immaturity to "gosh, I guess I'm growing up" awareness. Lots of snappy patter - overuse of the word "giggle" - grows on you and gets more interesting in the last half.

The name for the magazine came out of an idea Sam and Tom had for the first cover:a beautiful woman taking a huge bite of a shiny red apple. Life is so tempting-why not dive in,muck around, take a big delicicious bitl of it? The allusion was entirely intentional,"Sex is crucial,",Sam said.
It's hard to abandon a job you're good at to follow an even bigger dream, but that's what Sam and her friend Tom decide to do. Follow their adventures in and out of relationships and scandals, as they fight to stay focused on giving birth to a new Manhattan fashion magazine. It's a fun read for when you need to remember how to believe in yourself.
This is a fun book. Total Chick Lit. If you love celebrity gossip you'll love this book.
A really fun, fast paced book. A group of friends in the publishing world get together to start their dream magazine. Fun characters and relationships, and if you're into magazines there's extra fun :) Not recommended for those who don't like sex and some "questionable" language in their reading.
Loved it. Quick read. Witty and funny.
