Love love love this book. This is the first book in the series that I have came across so I'll need to go back and start from the beginning. I'm became an instant fan of Lynsay Sands with this. I have also fallen in love with yet another fictional character, god help us all, lol. Lucian and Leigh are great. Ignore the ones saying this book was bad... if there are any, because this book was a great read, lots of laughs, hot steamy vampire sex, wich is all we ever really want. Read it. Love it. Come on you know you want to. :)

I've enjoyed the other books in this series, but I was hesitant to start this one because I wasn't sure how it would be with Lucian as the main male character - since he's a grumpy old bastard in previous books. But I'm glad that I gave it a try. It's definitely not my favorite book in this series, but Lucian surprised me in this book - plus it was fun to see everyone's reaction to his changed behavior.

This was my first book from Lynsay Sands and I loved it. This was light and refreshing. I loved that Leigh was not a whiny character and that Lucien was a good character for her. They both made such a good couple. I also liked that this book really did not deviate from the main characters. Yes, there is someone trying to "steal" Leigh but the book was not consumed by that. The book was really about a girl who gets bitten by a vampire and has to learn to deal with it and is being taught how to by a grumpy, crusty thousands years old sexy vampire. Such a great read. Will read more of this author.

The Argeneau family of "born vampires" are interesting, funny and all together likable. Lynsay Sands has created a nice series...but each stands on its own very well!
Bite Me If You Can is another book in Lynsay Sands' Argeneau Vampires series. It's not necessary to have read the others to understand this one. The family tree at the beginning of the book is a great reference and gives you a clue of who is who in the story. Leigh Gerard is minding her own business walking home late at night from work. She owns a bar names CoCo. She attacked by a vampire who used to be a former emplooyee Donnie and his sire and taken away by him to his lair. The vampire can not copmpletely control Leigh and she manages to escape. She's rescued as most of the other vampires are destroyed, but it soon becomes apparent that she's been made into a vampire and is "turning", a very painful and noisy experience.
Lucien Argeneau is a bossy, grumpy, arrogant vampire who doesn't really care for anyone since his wife and children died hundreds of years ago when Atlantis sunk. He finds himself having to take care of Leigh, much against his will, while she turns. It becomes clear fairly early on that she is his "life mate."

I love this series.. I love how she treats the vampire histories and origins! too bad its not all true! lol but really .. all this series is a great read and one of the books that got me interested in vampire romance... yea sometimes you want to go.. oh come on .. they wouldn't really act or do that ( the men and the women) ! but then.. still worth the read. I cant wait for the next one to come out..
the men in the series are sexy, smart and deep down very sensitive.. I love it.. too bad men really are not like this!
I love how she writes... you really can get into the story and fell like your there almost. I like books that are written with good descriptions so that you can see the place they are in and feel like your there watching it all happen. If you like other vampire romance you will fall in love with all of Linsey sands characters and the whole argeanu family and the women( or men) they fall in love with!

This story centres on Lucian, the twin brother of Jean-Claude, Marguerite's deceased husband He's one of the "original" immortals, and has lived for over two thousand years. He's on the Council and hunts down rogue vampires. It's while he's on the hunt for Morgan, who has started his own "nest", that he encounters Leigh. Morgan has just turned her but she hasn't yet gone through the painful process when Lucian grudgingly rescues her.
He's not happy about it, though. He tries to dump her on Margeurite but she's off to Europe, leaving him at her home in Toronto with her massive mastiff Julius who likes getting into the garbage. He can't get any of his relatives to help him except to offer advice he doesn't want to hear, and it doesn't help that they all think Leigh is his life mate.
Very funny for this grumpy old vamp to try to woo the girl when he hasnt wooed in centuries!

A very good read! I couldn't put it down!
I have read the series from the first and will not bore those familiar with the series with background info and tell readers who haven't that it is best if you read the series from the start, as there is a lot of info provided that will give a better understanding of secondary characters.
The main character is Lucian who with his partners have tracked a rogue vampire who has kidnapped a young woman, who is in the process of turning, becoming a vampire. Leigh is an independant woman who does not want to be controlled anymore. Her ex was bad enough, but this insane person who says he is a vampire and her new master? Nope. Lucian and his partners rescues Leigh but while cleaning up the rogues mess he, the rogue, escapes. Lucian doesn't know what to do with Leigh, so he decideds to dump her on his sister-in-law, but finds she is off on an adventure (another story, definitely worth reading, Vampire Interrupted). He tries other family members, but they all seem to be unavailable; so he is stuck with the woman who is going through the turn.
Lucian is the example of a grouchy ole bear that everyone wants to stay away from, no one talks back to him and obeys instantly and he likes it that way, he has a quiet, peaceful life. Leith, however, does not see him that way and he doesn't know what to do with a woman who is so full of life and energy. And so the story goes, the typical love story, grouch falls in love, woman who has been burned falls in love and everyone lives happy ever after.
What make this story so great is that it has all the requirements of a good story besides the normal fall in love and live happy ever after. The plot is an enjoyable read, with so much humor that you have others around giving you weird looks as you laugh out loud. Here is the grouch everyone is afraid of wearing an apron, a bandana tied over his head and looking as if he has been moping and cleaning up a big mess. He has a plate of food for Leigh and tells her it must be good, it is made by some chef; well, Julian the dog loves it, as it is his dog food. That is one of just many good laughs in the book.
The love scenes are definitely worth reading the book for; hot, and not so many that there is more sex than story. The pace is just right, fast when needed, slow in the important parts. The language fits the period. I may enjoy some books that have the ancient vampire speaking as is in the Old World, but it would sound silly in this series. The interactions of secondary characters is blended just right and follows along as they were in other books. No all of a sudden a person who would love to strangle Lucian being sweet to him -- instead she is ripping him up when needed. Descriptions fit the area, you feel as if you are in a mall when there is shopping and for those of us who refuse to drive a car with our sig. others as a passanger, it will be a trip down memory lane as Leigh drives the car with Lucian.
There is the normal bad guy shows back up and there is a battle ands happily. The difference is that we don't see a damsel in distress, but a woman who can hold her own; she isn't waiting for her knight in shining armor, she is fighing off the dragon and doing a pretty good job. This isn't a dark agnst ridden series. If you want a light, entertaining series this is the one for you. It will have you laughing out loud, a VERY warm from the sex scenes that sizzle yet are not over the top and wanting to read the earlier books if you haven't and continue the series if you have.

This book was true to form with an argeneau finding his/her mate and their struggle to come to grips with the reality of their situation while protecting their world. Even though you already know this before opening the book, the book is so well written that you enjoy the journey of the main characters.

One minute Leigh is walking home in the early hours of the morning, and the next a vampire is sinking his teeth into her neck. Turns out it was a rogue vampire marked for termination, but it does Leigh little good because the damage has already been done. She's one of them.
Lucian Argeneau, hunter of rogue vampires, has been alive for over two thousand years, and there's very little to excite him anymore. Food has become tasteless, sex is ordinary. Then Leigh drops into his life. Suddenly he finds himself craving coffee.. and imagining the sassy brunette atop the black satin sheets on his nice big bed. It's Lucian's job now to enlighten Leigh on the inner workings of being immortal..and tutoring her is igniting a fire in him that hasn't burned in centuries.
But until they stop a renegade bloodsucker from destroying the human race, passion will have to wait.
