The Birds of Pompeii Author:John Ciardi "All of Ciardi's voices are here: gruff, humorous, ornery; sophisticated, idiosyncratic, precise, wise, and loving". -- John Stone
The best poem I heard read was a public reading done by Miller Williams and the late Jim Whitehead. Dr. Whitehead's reading of Ciardi's "True or False" made it my favorite poem of all time (relationships).
