Very nice illustrations that make for a cheerful book. This will serve for lower elementary students with a high interest in the subject--there is a fair amount of text.
Example: "Flapping gives a bird the power to fly. As the ends of the win g move down through the air, they pull the bird forward. Air rushing over the wing lifts the bird in the air." To begin flapping: 7 points, one sentence at a time, accompanied by an illustration of a pintail duck taking off, repeated 7 times per the list. The subject concludes with slow and fast flappers.
List of books to ID birds and Glossary. No Index.
