After reading the first chapter, I thought... Wow! This is going to be a great book. Sadly, it didn't continue that way. The middle of the book seemed long and tedious at times. There were good, scary parts when "the kid" was around but everything else just bored me. I think is was because most of it surrounded the characters and their daily lives but there was nothing there that really made me feel for the characters. So I ended up not really caring and skimming over those parts. It was a struggle to pick up the book sometimes. Then there was the ending. It was a crazy, messed up ride that ended the book much like it started. All in all a good read that could've been better.
