This book was an enjoyable read about a woman who left the "city life" and moved to a home on a mountain in a rural med-east state. Her activities are interesting and all of the characters are real, alive, believable and intriguing. I grew up in a city just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, in the the Appalachian Mountains, so her book was assuredly authentic. I found it a good story about people with a history and, perhaps, a future where they reside...as long as "urban sprawl" doesn't swallow them and their way of life right up!

This was an interesting, but different book and I enjoyed this persons story on her life when she moved to a new neighborhood and how it changed through the years.

The portrayals of small-town life are great, but I wanted to see the author's involvement more personally.

The author gives her personal view & experiences of living in a small town in the mountians of Virginia. A humorous, entertaining & thought provoking read. Being a country person myself, I could relate to many of the author's feelings about the encrochment of 'city folks' into the rural areas.
