not a favorite of my boys but a cute enough story. same author as 'the biggest snowman ever'.
Once there were two mice who fell in love with the same pumpkin. Clayton watered the pumpkin during the day. Desmond watered it at night. The two mice did not know about each other. Then the pumpkin grew and grew and grew into...
A delightful tale that lends itself well to children making predictions about what they think will happen next.
This is a great story for reading to young childen. My class loved the story of the house mouse and the field mouse both caring for the same pumpkin. Both were working towards a goal and very dedicated. Their hard work pays off when the pumpkin grows from the small size to bigger than a house. Clayton cares for the pumpkin during the day and Desmond does the same at night. So there is some repetition for the readers. When the mice meet they come to a compromise so each can enter their competition. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for an autumn or Halloween themed book.
a fun and enjoyable book for any age!
