I found this a fascinating look at a world that I never knew existed. The book as informative -- the author knows his birds -- and read like a fast-paced adventure. I would recommend to anyone. This is an glimpse at a group of people with a particular passion. (BTW, the amount of money spent is a great argument for protecting natural habitats, although not all birds were found in the wilds of N.A.)

I thought the movie looked like fun, then I learned it was based on a book of the same name. The movie didn't get good reviews, but the book did. I am so glad I got it--it was really fun and interesting about birders. There was actually some suspense about which of these three extraordinary individuals would win the Big Year! I would recommend it for anyone who enjoys a pleasant read.

An amazing and hilarious look into the culture of birders. As an amateur birder I was intrigued but to witness the obsession in this book was fascinating!
