I picked this book up on the spur of the moment, despite its rather lame title. Excellent read! Never a dull moment and the pages seem to turn by themselves.

This author was unknown to me but for fans of police, homicide, detectives and the girl, it's a well written story.

Nick Lerue works as an investigator on Capitol Hill and has seen alot of things in his line of work, but has no idea what to think when his ex girlfriend's twin sister shows up one day claiming that she has been communicating with her sister in her dreams. She asks for his help to save her sister who was kidnapped while doing research for a book about a 1955 lynching in Pushmataha, Mississippi. This book is full of unexpected twists and turns. This was a good book.

I did not read this book, but my husband did and liked it. From the back: Federal Chief Investigator Nick LeRue has brought down some of the smoothest operators on Capitol Hill and uncovered dangerous secrets in politicians' pasts. But the disappearance of his ex-girlfriend, investigative journalist Heather Cole, leads Nick down a dangerous path. Fueled by Heather's twin sister, Melanie, and her visions of her sister being held captive by an unseen man, Nick follows Heather's trail from Washington, DC, to the small town of Pushmataha, Mississippi. It appears that Heather may have been close to uncovering this town's darkest and bloodiest secret, but the town's residents will do anything to keep that secret from getting out. And as Melanie's visions become increasingly darker and more frightening, it's up to Nick to reveal what the town so desperately wants to keep hidden, and save Heather from the brutal hands of the Pushmataha powers that be.
