The reviews indicate this book is for young readers, ages 12-15 or so. It is very well written, as well as being very educational in methods of firefighting as well as the chemistry of fire. The characters are believable and interesting. I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical fiction, under 21 or over!

This story is based on the true story of one of America's biggest wildfires. Written beautifully. The story was engrossing and i very much enjoyed it. It is marked young adult--i do not understand why as it is very much for adults also. This wasn't an easy book to envision as hundreds of forest fires blazed thru Idaho and Montana, they were worse than anyone imagined. I found this an excellent read.
