The book was well-written and able to hold my interest, though it is a bit simplistic, but it certainly did not come into the "couldn't put it down" category" for me. It is about an unusual case of child abuse, and I liked the way it ended for the child. However, I was a bit bored by the stuff about Abby and her son at the beach that the author saw fit to keep interrupting the main action with on the last pages.
