The Ender saga gets to be harder slogging as it progresses. Speaker for the Dead is a great ride, and develops Ender well and tells a good yarn. Xenocide gets pretty heady and arcane. Children of the Mind is one I suffered through to complete the series, kind of like when you sit through the rest of the movie hoping it'll get better, but you don't want to leave because you've already been there an hour.

If you like the action and play in Ender's Game, check out Ender's Shadow.
