The story of Twig, a young boy raised by woodtrolls, who is trying to find out where he came from. He travels across the Deepwoods, and eventually beyond them, meeting countless tribes and groupings of creatures, to find his destiny. Beautiful illustrations throughout the book.

This was a charming story filled with all kinds of interesting creatures and has quite a few wonderful illustrations that make the book all the more wonderful. It's filled with adventure for the main character, Twig, as well as some sad points. I thinks it's a great read for young and old alike.

My boss was doing a clean-out of her kid's books & I inherited these ... great! The stories are fun, quick moving, and the plot links along the books. I absolutely love the drawings - they are like old etchings, with a dash of weirdo faeries & Dr. Seuss-like contraptions. Maybe a little too non-disney with the abrupt deaths and tragedy now & again, if your smallfry don't like their stories with gritty bits. But I enjoyed them!
