What a special book. Mother and daughter knock this one out of the park. Very rarely can a book make me smile and laugh out loud, but this one did. Awesome read.

I expected so much more but what I got read itself like a book written by a 12 year-old for 12 year-olds. I'd want my child to read something more substancial.

The story itself is as flat and one dimensional as the fairytale the main character is reading.

I truly believe this book would have never been published if it weren't for the mother's name (Picoult) printed on it.

I gave up half way through it.

What happens to the characters of a book when the book is not in use? Delilah does not fit in at her school. She has one friend that she confides in. There is one thing that she does not share with this friend; she loves the Fairy Tale: Between the Lines. She takes it with her everywhere. It is not normal for a teen to be reading this kind of story but Delilah cannot put the book down. She knows every word, every picture till one day she notices something is different.

You will either really like the book or hate it. From reading reviews, I found that the people that did not like it were expecting another Adult Fiction book from Picoult based on Love/ Life/ Tragedy. This is not an Adult Fiction book, it is a story written for Pre-Teen to Teen girls. I am neither and enjoyed the book. I am saving it for my daughter and will recommend it to other young adults.

Very different than anything that I have ever read. I enjoyed it though. Good to get out of your comfort zone. I thought it was very creative and interesting.

Between the lines is a story written by Picoult and her daughter Samantha who I must admit shows wonderful writing talent if this book is an example of her imagination and ideas. The book explores the world of Delilah a young fifteen year old girl who finds herself in a high school where she is not in the 'popular' crowd and where she finds escaping into the world of fiction is a good way to escape the sometimes painful reality of her young adolescent life.

Delilah finds herself entranced by a fairytale involving a young prince named Oliver, and it becomes a favorite as she reads it over and over, and to her surprise the young prince takes on a life all his own, and they will embark on a journey of life, love, and discovering that the reader of a book may not be the only one trying to escape their lives, although for Oliver (the young prince and main character in the book) the last thing he wants is to have his life read over again; in fact he'd like nothing more than for Delilah to be able to help him find a way to be able to escape this particular book for good.

As the reader follows these two young people get to know each other, you read the book Between the Lines while following Delilah and Oliver's story; this book was very original. I quite literally could not put it down and would recommend it to anyone who likes Picoult's books; this one is a little different than usual and quite honestly I loved it (and its illustrations); and the idea that Picoult wrote it in collaboration with her daughter. Great characters, scenery, and plot
