Whether you are a fan of Ms. Bostwick or not, you are in for a treat with this book.
This is said to be a prequel to the Cobbled Court books. If you've already read the Cobbled Court books, then you will be familiar with the main character of this one, Mary Dell. This story beautifully explores Mary Dell's growing up and coming of age years, including her extended family and the intricacies of their relationships, up until she opens a quilt shop.
If you haven't read the Cobbled Court books, you'll want to get them to read more of the story.
Since this book is set in Texas, and includes so many other colorful characters, I wouldn't at all be surprised to see it made into another series by the author. This is a great story and I recommend it to anyone that likes the genre and others as well.

An absolutely delightful book! Can be read as a standalone, without any knowledge of the Cobbled Court Quilt series, but for fans of the series, this book telling the backstory of Mary Dell is an utter treat! Mary Dell and her family are wonderful characters that the author has meticulously fleshed out and given it to us as an uplifting, life-affirming read. Loved every darn word of it!
