Jackson just knows how to tell a story. That she populates her tales with characters from my family & from down the street is an added bonus. BETWEEN is my second Jackson read; the first was GODS IN ALABAMA. I now plan to read whatever she cares to write. I'm hers to lose.

I just finished listening to this. Very well done, the author reads this herself, I have to admit that did like the reader for Gods In Alabama more. I liked the story, I thought Nonny was a very likable character, but I didn't like this book as much as I wanted to - I definitely preferred the first. This one ended all tied up in a pretty bow and there just wasn't any suspense in it for me. Having said that, I grew up in a small town in SC and this was again, set in a small southern town, so I could totally identify with a lot of things here. Good read, I will be reading the book when I get my hands on it as well :)

I loved this book! It could be because I am a sign language interpreter myself, and could relate to much of what was taking place in the novel. I especially enjoyed the narration by the author-- many authors are NOT good narrators of their work, but Jackson certainly is excellent. I loved her accents. Made the characters so believable.

I appreciated the title so much, as it was a running theme in the book-- "between". I also quite enjoyed the author's notes at the back, telling about the actual town and such. I really can't wait for this author's next book!

This book is quite different from Jackson's first book, GODS IN ALABAMA, which I devoured upon opening the cover. However, it is a good book in its own right, though not a mystery and written in a much different style. In some ways, I liked it better. It is funny and sad (but not too sad), and everything in between. There's that word again!
