This is a sweet story about Betsy Ross as a young girl, before she sewed the flag. Nice historical easy reader.

Most historians now agree that this whole story is a myth, promoted by her grandson. Betsy Ross sewed flags, but not *the* flag. If you want a biography of a patriot, there are many better choices; likewise for American women.
