This is a real thriller, taking place across the US and overseas, though the starting and ending point occur in the labyrinth of Washington D.C. politics and intrigue. Credibility is stretched at times, but the suspense builds continually.

Really great read! A U.S. Trade official finds an envelope addressed to her on her bosses desk. It's documentation of a Swiss bank acct. in her name containing millions of dollars. She's set up to take the fall and her young daughter is kidnapped to assure that she remains silent & doesn't fight the charges...but Louise Shidler is no fool. She manages to escape custody and the chase is on. She looking for her daughter, the law looking for her and an old friend who's so sure of her character and that she wouldn't do what she's accused of, that on the Q.T. he goes to great lengths to find the truth. Add to the mix a mysterious group of killers looking for him and Louise, killing anyone who gets in the way. And, the daughter is only a phone call from being murdered by her "jailers." Who is calling all the shots?? It was hard to put down
