This sprinkling of "gold rush" tales includes three of his most famous: The Luck of Roaring Camp, The Outcasts of Poker Flat, and Tennessee's Partner. Of the rest, four are animal stories that I found tedious. What remains is a smattering of stories concerning most of his most infamous characters (Col Starbottle, Jack Hamlin, et alia). If little else this book is a good introduction to the author.
