Naturally an arbitrary selection, but a pretty wide-ranging one. Not all of these figures are as obscure as promised (Jeff Buckley?), but Williamson and cohorts do a very fine job of profiling these real & relative obscurities, giving us some colorful background info and, in most cases, good places to start listening--which I fully intend to do.

Some of these artists, I suspect, are here more for their stories than their music . . . but a fine read nevertheless.
