This book is like a self help book for Christians. Joel Osteen of Lakewood Church has an infectious positive attitude that makes you want to just get up and believe you can do anything...with the Lord's help. It'll make you want to rise up out of any terrible or bad situation and start thinking about getting out of it and seeing yourself having victory over those problems in your life. This is a powerful picker-upper.

This book does not match my conservitive theology at all. I find him showing people how to pray for money and riches. He tells one story of how his wife desired to live in a big fancy house. I thought we should aspire to live in our father "big house" in heaven.

Very good book. Both in his sermons and his books Mr. Osteen is a positive and informative guide to god's word. He breaks down the scripture with an ease that is truly a gift. A must read for anyone who is in need of a spirtual "road map" to enriching their life and living the life God has promised.

I had listened to a lot of Joel on TV and had ordered a few CDs off the website. The book goes right along with Joel's style. I found a lot of "repeat" in the book, from what I had already heard in the sermons, but the book was still inspiring and awesome. I keep a copy of this and "Become a Better You" at work to turn to when I'm having a crappy day.

If you have seen all his sermons you pretty much heard what's written in the book, but it's good to see it in writing.

I see this book as more of an inspirational book with a twist of spirituality. Joel most certainly makes you understand that not only can you do it but that you are here to be successful.

I did not care for this book. Not one bit. My parents forced me to read it, and it was a boring, un-enlightening experience. In many places, Osteen misquotes Scripture entirely, not to mention that the first three Parts of the book condone the lust for material goods, and show disdain at contentedness. Don't read it. It's not worth your time. If you really want to improve your life, how about reading the Word itself, and seeing what it means to YOU.

He probably should have reviewed parts 5 and 6 just before Hurricane Harvey.

Same old "Say it and Claim it" bull that all the other popular preachers are teaching which is unbiblical. These guys will say anything to make a buck and all they are doing is deceiving their audience and themselves. Don't waste your time...

This is an oldie but a goodie. I'd never read this book before and received the audio cd through my membership with PaperbackSwap. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did, thinking it would be old information and that it would feel cookie-cutter. It didn't strike me that way at all. The Bible and its teachings are timeless, I suppose, and every point Osteen makes in the book is as on point today as it was in 2004 when this was published. I also didn't expect the book to have as much depth as it did. Osteen has a lot of detractors, but I'm not one of them, I'm a new fan.

This is a great book. It is missing it's dust jacket and has some light underlining in it.
Alittle bit of highlighting on a few pages
