This is a terrific book! It brings readers into the explosive battle over integration in the city of Durham, NC in the 1960s, through the story of community organizer Ann Atwater and local Klan leader C. P. Ellis. The two became best friends, and fought together to integrate a community divided by racism and class struggles.
