The only story I read in this anthology was "Almost Persuaded" by Mary Balogh.
When Captain Robert Mitford is introduced to Miss Jane Everett, he knows she is his destiny. He remembers his past lives...meeting Jane and then losing her for various reasons. Now he must convince Jane he is in love with her after only meeting her two days ago. Jane is instantly intrigued by Captain Mitford. She feels drawn to him and doesn't know what to think of his reincarnation claims. She knows her father will not allow her to marry a man with no title. But Robert just might persuade her to throw away caution and marry him anyway.
This is a retelling of Jane Austen's Persuaded. I found this story very slow. The heroine kept changing her mind over and over again. There are better retellings of Jane Austen's work. My rating: 2 Stars.
