This novel has the same feel as the Shopaholic series - rich girls who have too much time and money on their hands. The adventures are fun, but after a while, you could almost write the next chapter. This is a great book to read at the beach or when you don't want think too much.
Helpful Score: 6
I found this book to be a really fun read. There is not much of a plot - and the one it struggles with is very predictable. But Ms Sykes does a great job with satire and the book is extremely amusing. Her descriptions of the lives of NY socialites kept a constant smile on my face.

A fun, light read. Definitely not serious literature but sometimes it's definitely good to enjoy the fluffier side of fiction. Pure fun.

In the recent tradition of Sex and the City-style fiction this looks at the lives of two well-to-do girls trying to figure out their lives. It is a fun, quick read!
Helpful Score: 4
Not bad chick lit. A very quick read with a predictable ending, but very fun a la sex in the city, replete with Manolos and Michael Kors
Helpful Score: 4
Quick easy read that does not require a great deal of thinking. A good book to read at the beach this summer.

A fun summer read. Sex and the City meets Bridget Jones.
Helpful Score: 3
This was a fast and fun read. I liked the characters. This is about how the VERY rich handle life and love. The "narrator" of the story is a Bergdorf Brunette, best friend of Julie Bergdorf, who "keeps $100 million in the bank and not a dime more".
Helpful Score: 3
A frothy and delicious read. It isn't difficult or very intellectually tough, but it satisfies like a macaroon. A very quick read.
Helpful Score: 2
Pure fluff. Completely designer name dropping. You need a chart to keep up! It is a crack up, though. I laughed out loud in some spots. Thought it was pretty unbelievable that someone could actually live like this and think like this until I saw Larry King interview Paris Hilton. Funny book.

I am sorry it took me so many years after publication for me to find this book. The Bergdorf Blondes is a really wonderful romp through socialite New York. The book follows the point of view of Moi, with her friends Julie Bergdorf (the queen bee of society), Lara and Jolene and may others. At some parts you want to laugh and ask yourself can anyone really be this shallow. They abbreviate everything including the word PH for potential husband. But, at the end of the day you really just do have to laugh about it.
Moi takes us not only into the world of the fashion obsessed Princesses of Park Avenue but through a series of her own very poor relationship mistakes. There is Zach, the moody depressing photographer who treats her like crap, who she almost marries. Eduardo the married, with children prince from some where or another, Patrick the married man with the psycho wife. And of course the very regrettable Charlie Dulain, who is Julies boy friend, or so she thought. You will get a few curve balls you didnt see coming in this fun little run around the world, from New York to Rio and back again. I recommend reading this one if you want something easy, and something to lighten your mood.

I was very excited to read this book, as I heard it to be a new and edgy addition to the chick lit genre. The story was cute, the girls were lovable (and attrocious and caddy at times- loves it!), and the men were not nearly as described or defined enough to truly get a sense of their characters. I was a little disppointed that the story didn't have a more finite kicker or a stonger punch. But, I would still pass along to a friend.

Light, easy reading. The story won't stick with you, but its entertaing while it lasts!

This was a fun book, quick read, very Sex in The City...

I wasn't too crazy about this book, it seemed to taken me forever to finish b/c I couldn't relate to any of the girls but I finished it...finally.

Read this for book club. It's an interesting perspective of what it's like to live as a rich "princess" thanks to Daddy's money.

There's quite a bit of designer name dropping in this book but it's a light, quick read.

This book was ok. I love chick lit and of course thought that this was a must read but I wasn't really thrilled with it.

Bergdorf Blondes is a fun and lighthearted book about high society in Manhattan. The book is stuffed with humor, romance, and fashion which I love in a book.
Helpful Score: 1
I started reading and within the first chapter had to put it down. I love to be entertained, but this was so trite and ridiculous, I could not read any further.

I read this book when I was sick and it was perfect!! It's definitely "brain candy." There are no deep meaningful symbols. It's just a really fun, quick read.
Oh and I will NEVER be able to think of South America in the same way, ever again! ;)

ummmm......I didn't really enjoy this book. It seemed too out of touch. Wasn't very impressed.
Very, very funny, snarky too - great beach read!
Good, funny book!
Could not put this one down!
light, fun read! couldn't put it down
Great read....great characters, light, amusing and funny...
Fun read. Great beach book.
If you like celebrity gossip this is the book for you!
Great book - as good as all the reviews.
This was a fun, light and "fluffy" read, a "chick lit" book.
Total fluff. But I really liked the ending!
A great beach read!
I tried to like this one. But just couldn't. Sometimes I can stand the shallow, selfish narcisstic characters. But this one was unbearable, and I only read about half of it. Just not for me.
A so-so book. It was entertaining but very predictable. A light, fast fluffy read.
This was cute, my friend gave it to me to pass time on a flight. That is all I would use it for... to Paris and Nicole for me!!
Funny and witty, a great "chick lit."
A really funny book, though it doesn't have much of a real plot. It's more of a very long vignette...Still, worth a read.
Very easy read, but a good book as well. I like all the Plum Sykes book i have read so far
Well, I loved the shopaholic series, but this one was just too fluffy for me.
A great quick beach read. The thing that sets this apart from other books in the genre is that Plum Sykes worked at Vogue magazine for a number of years, which gives her great insight when it comes to the fashion world in NYC. Very funny.
I absolutly loved this book 100% rich girl living in NYC chick lit.... Full of designer labels, fun gay BFF's, millionaire/billionare boytoys and just rich flakey single BFF's (and even flakier married BFF's!!) with a typical herione of the book being a woman who's a little more down to earth and less flakey then her friends... I loved it purely a fun quick light read.. i love plum sykes...unfortunatly the bulk of this authors writing is for VOGUE since she only has written 2 novels (this one and the debutante divorcee...which i also loved by the way ) the characters in both these books remind me of each other.....
A cute easy reading book.
Loved this book! It was a great quick read :)
This book is a guilty pleasure. Chock full of spoiled characters you will love to hate! A fast-paced quick read.
You really have to be in exactly the right mood for this über-silly chicklit about a bunch of self-absorbed Manhattan twenty-somethings whose entire purpose in life is to be seen at the right parties, wearing the right designer and the right jewels, in the company of the right man. Sykes telegraphs her "big surprise" so early in the novel that if her next book doesn't get published, she'll be a shoo-in for a job with Western Union. But if you're down with the creeping crud and want something even more mindless than daytime TV, this is the book for you.
I listened to this on way to work and thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the reader's accent. It made my one hour drive thoroughly enjoyable even with all the construction.
A bit predictable, but then again...isn't most chick-lit? Nevertheless, it was a very cute, fun read!
Fantastic, lives up to the back cover blurb from Anna Wintour herself!
Very funny, great vacation read, plot goes quickly and it's hard to put down
Very funny and entertaining!
This was a very entertaining light read.
A fun, easy read about high society New York girls.
chick lit.
While in the same vain, this is much better then the novel: Sex in the City.
very cute and funny chick lit..especially if you are a nycer...Z
I loved this! A total HOOT !
Cute, easy read. Great little twist at the end. Perfect chick lit.
This book is about a group of women who are Bergdorf Blondes. The descriptions of some of their lives is almost unbelieveable but I guess there are some people in this World that act like this. Some parts of the book are really funny, but after awhile I got bored with it.
very funny chick lit with a funny take on the rich in the big city
I thought this book was "mindless." I wanted to read it because, after teaching for another year, I was looking for something light, but this was TOO light, as light as a feather might be ! (tee-hee) But then, my family tells me that I am too serious. Anyway, thanks for the book !
A great light summer read.
plum sykes does it again! she cuts so close to the quick. i feel like i know all of these gals.
Loved this book is a REALLY funny book about New York, socialites and front row girls. You will absolutley fall in love with the characters .Plum Sykes is a great author. I highly recomend this.
Fun read. Entertaining.
A fun read about rich ditzy women in NYC!
"A diabolically amusing concoction" The New York Times
If you like anything written by Candace Bushnell, you'll enjoy this book. It was a good, fast read.
Oh the life of the super-rich! Could easily be the life of the super-shallow! Fun, easy read.
Fun & easy read. Great spring break/vacation book!
an excellent quickie. funny and very "in" book.
Fun reading about the perils of being beautiful and rich.
This is such a wonderful book. I could not put it down. Kinda like Shopaholic. And way better than the second.
silly, good for a one afternoon read-like a flu day!
Very Funny. Cute book. Perfect, light read!
Sweet and cute. A nice quick read.
Funny. A guild-free ride that's akin to being let loose on Fifth Avenue with Donald Trump's platinum card
Good summer book. Funny.
Nice, fast, easy read. No need to think too much!
One of the reviewers stated that she laughed out loud... I never did. She's no where near Sophie Kinsella.
An excellent summer read. Something to enjoy while sitting on the beach or laying by the pool. Similar plot to the TV show "Sex and the City."
A witty, quick read.
I found it hard to get into this book, but I liked the ending. It is inconceivable to me that there are girls who actually live like these girls do.
Funny, lighthearted, easy read.
Meet Moi. With invitations to high-profile parties, more designer clothes than is decent, and a department store heiress for a best friend, Moi is living at the peak of New York society as a Park Avenue Princess. But what is she to do when her engagement falls apart? Can Moi ever find love in a town where her friends think the secret to happiness is an invitation to an exclusive sample sale? With enormous wit and an insider's eye, Plum Skykes' glittering debut captures the nuances of the rich and spoiled in a heartwarming social satire.
A little trite for my taste-good for a summer beach/pool read. Leaves you feeling like you just watched one of those reality shows about spoiled girls.
Plum Sykes's beguiling debut welcomes readers to the glamorous wourld of Park Avenue Princesses, the girls who careen thro;ugh Manhatttan in search of the perfect Fake Bake (tan acquired from Portofino Tanning Salon) a ride on a PJ (private jet) with the ATM (rich boyfrine), and the ever-elusive fiance. Can she ever find happiness in a city filled with the distractions of Front Row Girls, gruess you'll have to read this novel to find out.
Fun book to read couln'nt stop from page one.
Fun book to read couln'nt stop from page one.
this book is a great beach read and fun! great to escape to but it only took me a few days to read! wish there was more to the book!
Eh...it was a very fast fluffy read. I didn't find the characters particularly engaging however.
A fun Read.
This was a really cute book, read it in one sitting. Great for those who luv chic lit!
I guess there is a market for these books, do these girls depicted in them read them? I dont know, but the whole fashion detail and shallowness is not to my taste. Perhaps it is so satirical that I am missing something, but I think not..
Heard it first as audio book on road trip! LOVED it! Chick Lit at it's best!
Cute chick lit.
