I stayed up until 4am finishing this book. The setting is fantasy/supernatural, but the issues are age-old: the results of prejudice and codified or institutionalized discrimination. This was not a fluffy feel-good beach read, nor was it a sexy booty-kicking urban fantasy. It was a well told and entertaining story that made you think long after you put it down. The main character is very human with her own faults, and sometimes I wanted to shake her, but you come to understand her motivations and her mistakes. This story will stay with me for a long time.

A good book looking at a world in which lycanthropy is the norm, and "nons" are a lower social caste. There were a lot of disturbing illustrations of racism that parallel into our own world and history. It would be interesting to see a series which included a novel from the lycantrhope's point of view.

Interesting mystery/suspense/fantasy that tackles prejudice in a were wolf world where humans are the minority.
