Finally....It took me forever to get through this book. I kept putting it down to read other stuff. I really do love Dante's story......but.....It's not fluid and fast enough for me. The story gets bogged down for me with all the "shadow branch" deception. The amount of pages covering the secret government groups and their evil plots is, well, just plain boring to me. I get it already (so I started skimming through those parts). And I realize that they are a part of Dante's history and the reason he is so damaged. But, I repeat, I get it already. That being said, that is my only complaint about the series. Dante and Heather are amazing lead characters, and their entourage are lovable and charming and I'm just as attached to them. There is a lot of tragedy in this book, we flashback thru Dante's childhood learning all the awful things that were done do him. It makes you love him even more. Without giving any spoilers away, this is an essential book in the series. The pieces to a very large and layered puzzle are snapping into place. And all is not lost for some key characters. And I will even go on to read the next one....I've become adept at skimming the evil government parts and focusing on my crush on Dante......

This book is darker than the first two. Just as good though. Makes some things more clear, others a bit less so.
Really liking this awesome original series.
The relationship between Dante and Heather is sensual and very hot. Dante's friend Von is the kind of friend anyone would be lucky to have.

This installment in the Maker series, slams you right into the action and never lets you rest. I think it is even better than the first tow books and darker. There is also some of the sweetest moments to date. Fantastic !!!
Heather gives up her agent job to stay with Dante he is still having terrible seizures and is being hunted. It seems everyone wants a piece of him, of his power. His father is gone and the pain of that along with his powers are driving him over the edge. He struggles just to hold on to his sanity. Von, my favorite character really shines and reminds me why I like him so much. I would like to read his book someday.

I am fascinated with this paranormal series but I'm not exactly sure why. It is interwoven with Vampires, mythology, Fallen, government plots and love. It is so different and sometimes difficult to read about things that were done by a secret government agency to rock star Dante when he was a child. His memories are returning, causing complete chaos and almost driving him insane, except there is Heather. She is an ex-FBI agent with a grim past of her own who loves Dante and gave up everyting to be with him and help him even when he scares her silly. There are so many players in this game who want Dante for their own. He is Vampire and Fallen. He is a destroyer and a creator. He is so unique there hasn't been anyone like him in thousands of years. Dante is searching for his missing father,Lucien, who cut all ties with Dante to protect him when Lucien was taken by Gabriel and the Fallen. Heather trusts Dante knowing that even in the midst of chaos he loves her and will never harm her. She must help him control his power that is growing stronger and wilder before he destroys everything. Their enemies are powerful and don't worry about collateral damage. Everyone has an agenda. This book had a satisfying finish but left me wanting more, wanting Dante to go after those who harmed all he loved and give them what they deserve. I am so looking forward to the next book.
This is not a stand alone story, you will be terribly lost without reading the first 2 books. It is on my keeper shelf with the rest of the series.
