This is an excellent book for people concerned about the environment and specifically about preservation of forests. The essays present a variety of ideas about preservation and show the problems with clearcutting. The essays present a mix of hard facts and personal stories, making it easy and enjoyable to read as well as informative. I've read a lot of environmentally-themed books, and this one is definitely an undiscovered gem of the genre.
