Having lived in Mississippi all my life, I found myself chuckling and nodding throughout this delightful book. Yes, it is about funerals, but, no, it is not about funerals. It is hilarious and truer that I'd like to admit. I have family members that lived in the Mississippi Delta, so I was taught almost from birth, the body is barely cold before the food starts flooding into the home of the bereaved. Food is how we deal with death in Mississippi. And, sometimes it is a matter of WHO brings the food, WHAT they bring and WHY. I'm very familiar with most of the recipes, but I did find a few I have not tried yet. This book has a permanent place on my bookshelf.
