A Heyer mystery, rather than a romance, but still a good read. The tyrannical Mr. Matthews is murdered by a bit of very lethal poison. The whole family is in an uproar and suspecting each other. A nice old-fashioned read.
Enjoyable book to read. Heyer takes you from character to character for the possibilities of who the murderer may be. Along the way, you get a great picture of all the varied characters involved in the plot.

Funny, insightful, couldn't figure out "who did it" - good detective story and society mirror.

Always enjoy her books.

It wasn't difficult to figure out Randall's role in this mystery, or who Mr. Hyde was and what he did for a living, but the identity of the murderer was a complete surprise.
