Danticat is brilliant as always! "Behind the Mountains" is an immigration story told from an 8th grade girl's point of view. The main character leaves Haiti because of political violence and then joins her father who had been living in Brooklyn for five years. It is a story about how immigration impacts families and individuals in a very simple, easy to read prose! Love it!
