Great Book. Can't believe I hadn't heard of this guy before.

Wow! What a story. If Hollywood made this into a film, you wouldn't believe it.
Yet the author is the son of General Maxwell Taylor, who commanded the 101st during World War II. So, it's not a scam, as are some so-called memoirs of the war written by people about themselves.
