I also was disappointed in this book. I enjoyed the first book in the series, but this just did not make me want to hurry up and find out what was next. A girl distrustful of men suddenly has 2 men who want to woo her and due to her fears and insecurities she is rude to both.
I found it hard to believe that the girl who moved to Sommerfeld against her will and a non-believer, now wants to dedicate her talents to God and continue to live in a Mennonite community where she does not feel welcome or accepted. Also how she found her stained glass talent skill is never explained. It is hard to accept that she is self taught and could take on the large projects that she has signed commissions to produce.
I was however glad to see her renewed commitment to family and to see the benefits that she reaped as well as the feeling of belonging that she finally obtains.

I was very disappointed in this book. I enjoyed the first book in the series, but this just fell flat for me. I found it hard to believe that she could just learn stain glass and then begin to do large windows for churches. I also felt like she was very rude to the man that worked for her. Hope the third installment is better.

Although the book started off slow, and the author took too much time explaining the process of creating stain glass windows, the book ended well. This is the 2nd part of a 3 part trilogy called "Sommerfield Trilogy". The third book is slated to be out February/2008. This novel covers a young woman's journey in her new life at Sommerfield. She learns that family, and loyalty comes first.

Excellent. Kim Vogel Sawyer has done it again. The series kept me reading to the end and I hated to see the series stop.

Good book. At first it was hard for me to get into it, but about a third of the way through it picked up and was a much faster read. Good story based on the Mennonite culture. 2nd in series.

This book is the 2nd in the Sommerfield trilogy. Set in a Mennonite community in Kansas, Beth tries to find her place in her mother's extended family, while feeling left out. Lessons in love and faith follow. The ending was better than I would've guessed.
