If you want to know more about Tibet, read Seven Years in Tibet, or Freedom in Exile. If you want to read more about a year of one's personal spiritual journey, read Eat, Pray, Love. You can read the last 25 pages of this book and get everything you need from it without wasting your time. The book is poorly written and completely uninteresting. Sad, as Losada's first book wasn't half bad.
