Slaves give accounts of their experiences before and after they were free in their own words. They were written down in the 1930's and at times seem to ramble on about nonsensical things. The accounts for the most part are very interesting. I only wish the interviewers would have asked specific questions regarding their lives and experiences instead of letting them speak about anything. Overall It is still a worth while read and important documentation of the time. I enjoyed it and hope you do too!
