Absolutely loved the style in which this book was written, it probably isn't for everyone but those who enjoy a very well written story will appreciate this book. Story is amazing and that it did actually happen puts a whole different perspective on the way people are treated or were treated having been declared a lunatic. You felt for all of the major players in the story and the struggle each was going through. A book to be read slowly and enjoyed.

If you are at all interested in mental health and the history of how treatment and institutionalization evolved, then this is the book for you. I found it so incredibly interesting. One of the best books I've read.
