I've always found the story of Beauty and the Beast interesting, and liked the way the characters each had their own story and paths to follow instead of just focusing completely on Beauty. Although I truly did enjoy this book and it's my favorite retelling of a much-loved story, I wish Ms. McKinley would have gone just a little deeper into the Beast's character and their romance at the end. It seemed just a tad rushed, but still was enjoyable.
