It was nice to visit Joe again, but if you are expecting the warm fuzzy feeling you had from the first one... well, it's not quite there. As a rescuer of mistreated or abandoned animals, I was in love with "Beautiful Joe" thirty years ago. I finally got this book when an anniversary printing took place. It's not a purchase I regret, by any means. Just brace yourself, like most sequels, it's not quite as good as the first.
