Complex characters make some really emotional romances and Thane is one of those horrifically wounded warriors who's very much wrapped up in his pain and cut off from society. Astrid was the desperate lady who originally sought his protection and ended up falling in love with him instead. He kept pushing her away; she bravely fought for what could be. Their sexual chemistry was off the charts, so if you prefer your romances with lots of sizzle, you'll eat this up. I loved it. 4.5 stars.
