I really enjoyed this book. I thought the bead camp was a very different setting. I was saddened to learn of the author's passing, as I would have liked to have read more from her.

This was just a fun quick read. It made me want to be a beader for sure. It introduces Kitzi Camden who joins her friend Beth at Camp Green Clover for some peaceful crafting only to find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation. Unfortunately do to the untimely death of Barbara Burnett Smith there will only be one more Kitzi book which saddens me greatly

Took a little to get into. Felt that the bead theme was a little weak, as the main character had little to do with beads. Still, it was a nice quick cozy read.

First is a series, this is a quick and easy read that many Texas women may enjoy because of the numerous references to real Texans. Since I love "crafty" heroines, I had hoped to find more beading tips. I will admit that I was stumped right to the end as to "whodunit" but did not enjoy this enough to keep it.

Kitzi Camden mystery with bead craft as the theme. Bead pattern included.

I really liked this book. The description of the camp and the beading activities taking place really lured me in. The mystery was a good one and, although I wasn't thrilled by the culprit/motice, kept me guessing. I will definitely get the next one in the series.

Good book--not much on beading, just uses it as a setting. Good characterization.

Camp Green Clover. Texas: Best friends Kitzi and Beth met at camp at age eight- and still return every year, however a big-name contractor will be at the retreat, incognito, looking for new talent. Now, formerly happy campers are fighting tooth and nail, hiding work from each other, even stealing. And then renowned beader May Feather actually ends up dead.
There are almost as many suspects at Green Clover as there are beads in Kitzi's bag. And everyone must stay at camp until the police have interviewed them unless they want to trade in their friendship bracelets for handcuffs. Kitzi has a fwe ideas and will follow her hunches police or no police. But the elusice killer appears determined to string everyone along..
Pretty good book

A fun and very enjoyable, very quick read. Not exactly great writing. Has some real-life Texas references. My crafting friends and I are hoping there is a real-life grown up crafting camp somewhere. The book inspired me to get back to jewelry making!

A good mystery about a group of women who go away for a beading weekend retreat
This is a quick read. I enjoyed the setting: a children's summer camp that is re-purposed during the other seasons as an adult (mostly women) sleep-away craft camp. It sounded like such a good idea!
The characters continue on in the later books of the series. I am hoping that the amateur detective, Kitzi, gains more experience. She made some poor choices in this plot. I like my detectives to be smarter than the average person. Don't you?
