My review of this book will be mixed. I did like it but I wanted more from the characters. At times, I felt Mallery was trying to be realistic by showing us that not everything gets resolved and most people avoided facing problems head-on. Other times I thought Mallery gave really unrealistic, simplistic solutions to the problems she placed in front of her characters (like the business with the bank). Also Mallery has a way of revisiting themes or storylines from her other books which I find annoying.
Things I did like was that the book was really about the friendship between Carly and Michelle. Both characters had their faults and weren't exactly likeable characters. They did stupid things and reacted poorly but it makes them more human. The romances were secondary in the book and I didn't mind.
So it was a quick read but I think after reading so many Mallery book she might be losing her magic for me. It was decent and passed the time nicely but it definitely didn't dazzle me.

This book is very slow going...so much conflict that I could barely finish it. Read this when you are in a happy mood, it can be a real downer. Glad it was borrowed from the library.
The main character of this story is a female war vetern who is just returning after 10 years in the war. She struggles to over come PTSD while juggling a family business. There are many unexpected twists and turns with the people in her life. It is a well written story that provides a very small look into the struggles our veterns face when returning to civilian life. I'm ready to read book #2!
This was a good book with likeable characters. It gives some idea how hard it is for an injured Vet to come back and try to resume a normal life. Having a good support system seems to be key.
Great read , I love Susan Mallery's writings
Good story of friendship.
really loved this book! found myself feeling as though I was there! the situations were so real and mirrored some events in my own life...wanted to read it from start to finish in one sitting...but the realities of life kept interferring...was so hard to put down...Susan is an amazing writer...will definitely look for more of her stories
